Booking Terms and Conditions
Hillside Cottage, Bridport
The following booking conditions apply to the contract of hire of Hillside Cottage, Bridport, by the hirer, and the owner, Mrs Sally Beadle.
Bookings can be made online via the Hillside Cottage website, or by telephone.
A binding contract is entered into on receipt of a signed online booking form.
A booking is deemed to be accepted by the owner when you, the hirer, receive confirmation. If the details on the confirmation are not correct, please contact Sally Beadle.
The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed two adults. Bookings including children will not be accepted.
No pets, smoking or parties are allowed in the cottage.
In addition, provisional reservations can be accepted by telephone or email and must be confirmed within 3 working days by the arrival of the required deposit and booking form.
A deposit of one third of the total booking price is required at the time of booking. Deposit payments can be made by bank transfer or by cheque.
The balance is due 6 weeks before the arrival date, or at time of booking if sooner. If the balance is not received within the time specified, the owner reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
Balance payments may be made by bank transfer or by cheque. You will be reminded by email when the balance is due.
If you book within 6 weeks of the start of your holiday, the whole cost of the accommodation is payable immediately.
Any change in holiday date or guests or the number of guests will be subject to the agreement of the owner and an administration fee may be charged.
Cancellation Conditions:
If the booking is cancelled less than 42 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
If the booking is cancelled 42 days or more before arrival, then a charge equal to one third of the stay will be made.
In the event of a no show or reduction in booking length (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
We strongly recommend you consider taking out cancellation insurance, so that you are covered in case of emergency, or unforeseen circumstances.
If a booking has to be cancelled due to Government Covid-19 restrictions, guests may either postpone their holiday to a later date, paying or being refunded any difference in rental price, or will receive a full refund of any sums already paid.
The cottage will be available from 4 pm on the day of arrival. There will be no access to the cottage before this time.
Please vacate the cottage by 10 am at the latest on the day of departure, in order that there is time to prepare the cottage for the next guests.
The Hirer Agrees:
That the supervision of any visiting children and any adults requiring care, remains the responsibility of the Hirer at all times. The garden is not suitable for and could be dangerous for children.
To comply with the arrival and departure times, as above.
To be responsible for removing all food from the fridge and cupboards and all rubbish from the cottage and for leaving the cottage clean and in good order, otherwise a cleaning and/or damages charge will be levied.
To notify the owner immediately of any problems at all with the cottage, or of any breakages or damage incurred during their stay, to allow the owner the time to have any repairs made or replacements organised without delay and before the next guests arrive. To pay for any unreasonable damage, breakages or loss caused.
A security deposit of £150 is required to be paid with the rental balance 42 days before arrival, or when booked if within 42 days, against which any damage or breakages will be charged. This will be returned by bank transfer within a week after the holiday, if all is left well. The balance of any damage greater than £150 will be requested direct from the guest, and must be paid without delay.
Cars and belongings are left at the guests’ risk at all times. No responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to such items.
Guests are asked to respect the peaceful neighbourhood.
To notify the owner immediately if any of the guests have knowingly been in contact with Covid-19, within 2 weeks before the start of the holiday, or if they develop Covid-19 whilst staying at Hillside Cottage, or within 2 weeks of leaving.
There is no EV charging point at the cottage and EVs may NOT be charged using Hillside Cottage’s domestic electricity supply, which is not geared up for this. There are EV charging points just a few minutes up the road in the East Street car park.
No candles or tealights or naked flames in the cottage.
No Ebikes to be charged on the domestic electricity supply or to be stored in the cottage.
If you use fake tan, sun tan lotion, or anything that will stain or damage the bed linen or towels, then please bring your own with you. The application of hair dye is not permitted in the cottage. Necessary replacement of bed linen or towels that have been stained or damaged beyond repair will be charged for in full.
