ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Do we need a car to get around?
No, it is an easily walk to Bridport. Can be there in 5 minutes. There is a regular bus service which runs in each direction along the coast road to Weymouth, Lyme Regis and even on to Exeter. Don’t forget your bus pass, if you have one!
How far is nearest shop?
The nearest convenience shop is just 3 mins walk and, in the same location, you will find Rise Market and Bakery for a wide range of local products. There are 5 supermarkets in Bridport: Morrisons, Lidl, Waitrose, Co-Op and Spar. There are plenty of independent food shops in the town and the famous Saturday and Wednesday street market is only 5 – 10 minutes walk from the cottage, with lots of food stalls selling delicious produce. Also clothing, antique, vintage and other stalls.
How far is the nearest beach?
West Bay – just over a mile away.
How far is nearest pub?
The nearest pub, is a 5 mins walk into Bridport.
Is there a minimum stay?
The minimum stay is usually 7 nights in busier seasons, unless there are last minute breaks available. Short breaks of minimum 3 nights are bookable in the quieter months. Please email with any requests or enquiries.
Do you accept pets?
Sorry, we do not accept pets at Hillside Cottage.
Is Electric Vehicle charging permitted at the cottage?
No, there is no EV charging point at the cottage. EV charging is not permitted from the domestic electricity supply as it is not covered by our insurance. There are EV charging points a few minutes away at the East Street car park.
